Durga Aarti is a devotional ritual performed in Hinduism to honor and worship Goddess Durga. Aarti is a form of worship that involves the offering of light, prayers, and hymns to the deity. It is performed in temples, during festivals, and in households by devotees who seek the blessings and protection of Goddess Durga.

During the Durga Aarti, devotees gather in front of the idol or image of Goddess Durga. The ritual typically involves the use of a brass plate with a lit oil lamp or camphor (diya), incense sticks, flowers, and other ceremonial items. The aarti is conducted by a priest or a devotee who leads the singing or recitation of hymns and performs the ritualistic movements with the lamp.

The aarti begins with the ringing of bells, symbolizing the invocation of the divine presence. The lamp or diya is circled in a clockwise motion in front of the deity, accompanied by the singing of aarti hymns. The devotees join in singing or chanting the aarti verses, expressing their devotion and gratitude towards Goddess Durga.

The aarti hymns in praise of Goddess Durga highlight her divine qualities, powers, and victories over evil forces. They seek her blessings for protection, strength, and well-being. The rhythmic clapping, bell ringing, and chanting create a spiritually charged atmosphere during the aarti.

The Durga Aarti is usually performed in the evening or at the culmination of special ceremonies and festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga, such as Navratri. It is believed that the aarti purifies the environment, dispels negativity, and brings peace, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment.

Devotees offer their prayers, wishes, and surrender to the divine presence of Goddess Durga through the aarti. It is considered a sacred practice that deepens the connection with the goddess, fosters devotion, and instills a sense of divine grace in the devotees’ lives.

Durga Aarti is a significant part of the worship and reverence offered to Goddess Durga, emphasizing the devotion, love, and gratitude of her devotees.
